Let’s go surfing now! Surf the Atlantic coast of Anastasia Island. 

Anastasia State Park hosts some of the better surfing on the east coast of Florida. Four miles of beach break allow visitors plenty of space to catch your own wave. For your convenience, Surf and Boogie Boards are available for rental at the Island Beach Shop.

Swimming opportunities abound along the four miles of Anastasia State Park’s Atlantic Ocean beaches.  There is a designated swimming area at the beach access ramp behind Island Beach Shop and Grill. This area is monitored by a lifeguard from Memorial Day through Labor Day, but swimmers should always exercise caution, whether a lifeguard is present or not.

Experience Anastasia’s natural beauty in a whole new way. Bicycle over four miles of beach and several miles of park roads. Bike lanes, are available for bicycling or be adventurous and bike along the shore! 

Bicycles are available for rent at the concession Island Beach Shop. Helmets are highly recommended for all cyclists and Florida law requires helmets for cyclists age 16 and under.

In order to rent a bicycle, one:

  • Must have the ability to follow verbal and or visual instructions independently or with the assistance of a companion.
  • Must be able to walk short distances up to 50 feet over uneven, sandy and wet terrain, independently or with the assistance of a companion.
  • Must be able and willing to wear all protective equipment recommended or required by industry standards.
  • Must have the ability to follow applicable local traffic laws.
  • Must be able to keep feet on pedals and hands on handlebars.
  • Must be able to keep head up and look forward.
  • Must have the ability to independently control, maneuver and maintain balance on the bike.
  • Must have the ability to get on and off the bicycle independently or with the assistance of a companion.
